Our book for this week is It Will Look Good.

READING:
This week we are looking at informational text features such as maps, diagrams and comparisons.  We are talking about how these help us learn about the topic of the book.  We are also discussing how different informational texts are alike and different.

We are also going to start our Reading Strategies.  On Friday, we will learn about Eagle Eye.  Eagle Eye tells us to look at the picture to help us with the words.

WRITING:
We finished working on our pictures by talking about keep colors consistent throughout a story like on people's clothing and on animals.  We talked about why illustrators might choose to draw in only black and white like to show night time.  We are also working hard on adding words including spaces, punctuation, and capital letters.

MATH:  (Activities to do at home are below each classroom activity.)
This week we worked on seeing what combinations make 10 by playing a Ten Bean Spill game.  You could use anything with two different sides like coins.

We also reviewed our shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle) by building them with wiki sticks.

We are going to start our number books to practice writing numbers and drawing pictures to match.

We are also working on longer and shorter.
